A frieze below one of the windows.
This is the second building I really fell in love with. I found it on one my first walks. It's on the other side of the Bega, on Blvd 16 Decembrie 1989, on the left hand side as you face the Traian Bridge. It's in a bad state of disrepair. Like many of the old buildings, it has broken glass, particularly in the top windows, which must hasten deterioration. I love the sinuous curving windows and friezes. I also love the way it takes on color, especially in the late afternoon.
This building, though, is a mystery to me; its picture appears in several guidebooks, but I have not found any identifying details.
